Every year, thousands of school children from Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia travel to the Chattanooga Arboretum and Nature Center at Reflection Riding to take part in naturalist-guided field classes and presentations. These innovative classes have been developed and improved in over 30 years of field testing. Teachers consistently give high marks for the quality learning experiences provided to their students, and there isn’t a better setting in the Southeast for teaching concepts of biodiversity, wildlife habitat preservation, pollution threats, invasive species and scientific inquiry. We cherish the opportunity to open students’ eyes to the natural world, a world that is so important to our existence and to our well being.
