Visitor Center

Begin your outdoor adventure in the Visitor Center. There is much to learn, explore and experience here and it is the perfect start to the natural world that awaits beyond its doors.

Immediately inside, children can enjoy crawling into the life size wolf den in the Red Wolf Educational Exhibit.  Take a moment to read a book or watch a video about the Red Wolf Species Recovery Program. Learn all about these amazing animals that have recovered from the brink of extinction.

Next, make the journey into the Virginia Wing Power and George W. Power Hidden Creatures of the Forest Exhibit, home to some of nature's smaller and more elusive inhabitants.  Tucked away in the tree branches, rocks and plants are hidden mounted specimens. Pick up a scavenger hunt at the front desk and see if you can find all of the hidden creatures!
